This short project took place in the first week of June at Cobden Primary School on the outskirts of Leeds (West Yorkshire, UK). There were three elements to the project. These consisted of a classroom session to introduce pupils to the basic concepts of archaeology, a garden pottery survey during which children could bring in finds from their own garden and a small scale excavation in the grounds of the school.
