A new heritage course for Ilkley
Starting on the 22nd of September I will be teaching a 7 week heritage course at the Ben Rhydding Scout and Guide Headquarters (Wheatley Lane, Ben Rhydding). Sessions run from 2.00 – 4.00 each Tuesday afternoon. The course costs £44.10.
This course explores the development oof Ilkley and the Wharfe Valley. Using a range of sources it will help place these area in its historic contexst. The course has a mixture of indoor sessions and guided walks.The indoor sessions will cover the history of the area from Norman times to the pesent day. There will be thjree gioded walks. Two in Ilkley and one in Addingham.

Hirst Wood Cemetery
At the request of the Shipley Photographs and Memories Facebook Group I am for a second time leading guided walk around Hirst Wood and the adjacent area (West Yorkshire, UK) on the afternoon of Sunday 19th July 2015.
The walk will focus on the history and antiquities of the area including the canal, the railway, possible prehistoric walling, and two cemeteries as well as Hirst Wood itself.
The walk costs £3 and starts from the public car park at the bottom of Hirst Lane at 2.00 PM.

Starting on the 22nd of September I will be teaching a 7 week heritage course at the Hilton Hotel (Hall Ings, Bradford).. Sessions run from 10.00 – 12.00 each Tuesday morning. The course costs £44.10 but is free if you are in receipt of an income related benefit (only SEA funded).
All Saints Church Little Horton Green Bradford
The course consists of four classroom sessions at the Hilton Hotel which alternate with three guided walks. The classroom sessions will cover the history of the town from the Norman Conquest to the present day. The three guided walks will focus on surviving historic buildings in in three different parts of the city – Little Germany and the Cathedral, Little Horton Green, and Manningham.

Starting on Friday 25th of September I will be teaching another 7 week heritage course at the Kirkgate Centre in Shipley. Sessions run from 10.00 – 12.00 each Friday morning. The course costs £44.10 but is free if you are in receipt of an income related benefit (only SEA funded)..
Ashdown Court, Shipley
The course consists of seven sessions. Four of these will take place at the Kirkgate Centre, Shipley and will look at various aspects of the social life of the Aire Valley around Baildon Bingley and Shipley in the 19th and 20th centuries. This will include churches and chapels, public health, houses, shops and entertainment. The intervening three weeks will consist of guided walks – one each in Bingley, Brackenahall Green/Shipley Glen and Saltaire.
