Castleford mill

Date: Monday 3rd September

Time: 14.00

Venue: Castleford Forum Library & Museum, Carlton St. Castleford, WF10 1BB

Castleford is justly famous for its Roman antiquities and for its industrial heritage. Its medieval history is les well-known. In this talk I take a look at both archaeology and documentary sources to reveal what life was like for the people of Castleford in medieval times.

The image shows what used to be the Allinson’s Flour Mil at Castleford. This was probably also the spot where the medieval corn mill was located.
